Traditional dental implant placement takes that long – and it’s quite some time before the final restorations are in place and your smile is whole. Dental implants replace missing tooth roots. They are titanium screws that connect with your bone over time, forming natural foundations for dental restorations. Implants feel like your other tooth roots, and remain with you for life.
Because your dentures contain full sets of replacement teeth, we are able to deconstruct those dentures and use the individual teeth as accompanying restorations for dental implants. The process will involve a variation on the following steps:
- Our dentist places dental implants in the desired locations – usually in the maxilla (upper jaw).
- We take apart your dentures to gain access to individual teeth.
- The separate denture teeth are screwed into the implants to create a fully new tooth (both root and crown).
- You leave our office with a whole, fixed, fully functional smile!
