Why Choose A Dental Implant Dentist Woodbridge

Cherrywood Dental • Aug 16, 2013
When you”re thinking about getting a dental implant, there are so many questions that will cross your mind. The most significant will likely be, “what”s the process going to be like?” At Cherrywood Dental, we”ve established a number of practices that make the dental implant procedure as streamlined as possible. This blog post outlines the ways dental implant treatment is different at our practice, and mentions a few of the benefits you”ll enjoy when receiving implants from your own family dentist.

The Dental Implant Procedure Woodbridge

The typical dental implant procedure involves long periods of planning and healing. We”ve laid them out below:
  1. In order to get dental implants, you”ll need to ensure that you”re prepared for the bone integration (that you have adequate bone mass) and that you are in excellent oral and periodontal health. This may require a bone graft, teeth cleanings, diet change, or periodontal treatment. The process will be complete when your teeth are healthy and your bone is strong.
  2. The dental implants will be placed in sets – you may not receive them all at once, to allow for adequate healing. If you are receiving implants in your upper and lower jaw, the surgeries may be divided into two appointments and separated with a healing period.
  3. After the sites where your implants were placed have healed, the implants will be exposed and abutments will be placed (these connect restorations to implants). You will then receive dental restorations to create the crown portions of the teeth. The healing process prior to restorations can take up to six months.

Receiving Dental Implants from Cherrywood Dental

After reading that list of lengthy processes, you may be overjoyed to hear that dental implants with our practice are placed alongside restorations in a single day! If you currently wear dentures, we can take them apart and use the crowns to make new teeth. The dental implant procedure is transformed, and you walk out of our office with entire new teeth.
